How do you build additional homes in urban areas without adversely affecting liveability? And how can we make agricultural areas a more attractive part of the environment? These are just two of the many topical questions this Yearbook addresses.

In a selection of 23 examples from current practice, landscape architects and urban designers demonstrate the power of their creativity. Innovative districts in Rotterdam and Woerden, an inviting skatepark in Amsterdam and an ‘urban country estate’ in Vlissingen offer inspiring solutions. The new Coolsingel in Rotterdam, the integration of a new main road into the countryside, the expansion of the national memorial cemetery and the forecourt of Eindhoven Airport capture the imagination.

And the inclusion of a forest vision for Zeeland in the selection draws attention to the importance of research. Articles, interviews and a photo reportage provide additional analysis and commentary on the selected projects.
