’scape cahier #1 / 2024
Here’s the new cahier of ’scape, the international magazine for landscape architecture and urbanism.
This issue is all about craftsmanship, which becomes evident in the choice of beautifully designed projects: in Monte, a small hamlet in Ticino, the designers from studioser reinterpreted its public spaces with an extraordinary care for subtlety and details. Calle Alta, a street at the foot of Calaceite’s hill in Teruel, Spain, is recovered with an homage to limestone landscapes. And last but not least, in Vercorin, located in the Swiss Alps, new pavements were designed by carefully reading the veins of different stones.
In this issue architect Fernando Menis shares with us his designer’s thoughts, and we highlight a podcast with artist Refik Anadol, in which he talks about AI, machine dreaming and art.
Also, we discuss two publications that caught our eye: 30 Trees and Why Landscape Architects Love Them and Art Applied by Inside Outside by Petra Blaise. In short, more than enough to read, look at and listen to.
Enjoy this new issue!
